Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches today from Activision and Infinity Ward. Every reviews have largely been positive for this new Call of Duty title. However, when a lot of gamers turned on their Xbox Series X this morning, they were greeted with an interesting change. The background on their Xbox Series X had automatically been changed to a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 background. For some gamers, this might be a welcome change. For others though, especially if they have no interest in Call of Duty, this can be rather annoying. Not even so much that it is a Call of Duty background but moreso that Microsoft changed it without giving gamers the choice of whether they wanted to opt in or not.

For those who do not like this change, it is easy to turn it off by following these steps:

• Press the big glowing X button on your controller
• Hit LB twice until you see the settings option
• Once in settings, go to General (should be at the top of the list)
• Go to Personalization
• Select “My Background”
• Disable “Show Event-Themed Backgrounds”

Once you do this, your background will go back to what it was before the Call of Duty: Modern Wafare 4 background appeared. If you don’t want any of these themed backgrounds to appear in the future, be sure to leave this option unchecked.
