We live in an era right now where prices are skyrocketing thanks to a few people and some global events. This has impacted the gaming industry as well, with console hardware prices rising after years on the market rather than the traditional declinewe are used to seeing. Services have also been going up in price. There was a point when Xbox had Game Pass Ultimate at $29.99 a month before they brought it back down to $22.99 a month, and are rumored to be working on packages that will be even cheaper. Nintendo recently announced a price increase for Switch 2, but told consumers approximately four months ahead of time, so they can try and get one before it gets more expensive.

Sony is not immune to these economic pressures. The price of the PlayStation 5 has increased substantially, and PlayStation Plus has seen price increases as well. Unfortunately, Sony just announced that another one is coming for their premium service. As is the case with Sony, they don’t give anyone any real advance notice of these price increases either.

As you can see, PlayStation Plus will be going up in price this week, beginning on May 20th. The new prices will be the following:

1 Month Subscriptions

  • $10.99 USD
  • €9.99 EUR
  • £7.99 GBP

3 Month Subscriptions

  • $27.99 USD
  • €27.99 EUR
  • £21.99 GBP

Even though 12 month subscriptions are not a part of this announcement, I wouldn’t be surprised if they get a price increase in the near future as well.
