Create your own Mii characters, become the caretaker of their island home, and experience the silliness, drama, love and surprises that unfold in the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream game, available today on the Nintendo Switch system. The game is also playable on the Nintendo Switch 2 system.

In Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, you can create all sorts of Mii characters based on family and friends, or even someone completely original. Customize every aspect of your island residents, from their appearance and personality to their voice, quirks, poses and catchphrases.

After creating some Miis to inhabit the island, help them explore their likes and dislikes, and get into all kinds of wacky fun. With a little guidance, they’ll form relationships, get into the occasional clash and ultimately start living lives of their own. Miis living on this island will do whatever they like, whenever they like, so drop in on them from time to time and experience it all as it happens.

Mii characters aren’t the only thing you can customize in this game. Expand and design their island home to your liking with various landscape items, houses, shops, restaurants and more. Plus, at the Palette House Workshop, you can take customization even further by creating pets, food, clothing, terrain and other one-of-a-kind items.

A free demo of the game is also available now on Nintendo eShop. Experience a slice of island life with Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream – Welcome Version. Progress is transferable to the full game once purchased, and a hamster costume in a random color for your Mii characters can be obtained after finishing the demo content. And don’t worry – the hamster costume can also be obtained in the full game.

For Nintendo Switch 2 players, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is designed to take advantage of the system’s improved hardware performance. Nintendo Switch 2 also includes support for GameChat, available with any Nintendo Switch Online membership.

A new installment of the Ask the Developer interview series featuring Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is also now live! You can check that out on Nintendo’s website. Take a look for some insight into the origins of this quirky game.
