Subnautica 2 was released literally a couple of hours ago, as of this article’s writing, but has already sold over 1 million copies, according to the game’s Bluesky account. This is an impressive feat for anyone, but it has to be especially sweet for Unknown Worlds after the legal battle with Krafton.
In Subnautica 2, players will explore an all-new alien ocean world rich with vibrant biomes, strange creatures, and hidden secrets. Whether playing with friends or alone, players will craft tools, build custom bases, and navigate the depths of this immersive, alien world as they forge their own survival stories.
Subnautica 2 will officially introduce multiplayer co-op, offering a new way to experience the adventure together. Up to four players will be able to explore the ocean’s vast environments together, and collaborate to craft tools, build bases, and face the challenges of a planet teeming with both beauty and danger.
Expanding on what fans loved about the previous games in the series, Subnautica 2 will deepen the experience with new biomes, from towering underwater cliffs to lush coral fields, each filled with unique creatures and hidden mysteries. As players dive deeper, they will uncover the secrets at the heart of planet.




Through Early Access, players will have the chance to shape the future of Subnautica 2. Customer feedback will guide the team on everything from biomes to crafting storylines and more as the game evolves. Early Access will be available on Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, Windows Store, and with Xbox Game Pass, providing an opportunity to be part of the development journey from the start.
