Scott Pilgrim EX: A Sneak Peek at the Fun Beat ‘Em Up

A little while ago we were able to get an early look at Scott Pilgrim EX and came away with hope for the final product. Our demo session was rather short but in that time period I could that this game is going to be a lot of fun, especially if you are a fan of the Scott Pilgrim universe. Fans will undoubtedly enjoy the call backs and many references that this game will showcase.

For those who might not be too familiar with Scott Pilgrim EX, it is similar to Scott Pilgrim vs. The World – The Game, which arrived in 2010. It is a beat ’em up in the style of a Double Dragon or River City Ransom. The action scrolls side to side for the most part. Scott Pilgrim EX will have seven different characters that you can play as, each with different abilities and attributes that can help you along your journey.

During my short time with the demo, I got to experience the game’s hand-to-hand combat, along with some of the weapons that will be available to deliver that powerful finishing blow to your enemy. As you defeat more enemies you will pick coins they drop on the ground so that you can shop in the various stores. You will definitely want to do this to help level up your character because, if the demo is any indication, there are going to be some challenging boss fights in the this game.

Scott Pilgrim EX is going to be a great game to play with a group of friends, offering online co-op for you and up to three of your friends. This can be done locally as well, so whether you are thousands of miles away or sitting next to each other on the couch, you can have a plast with this newest Scott Pilgrim adventure.

After I was done playing the demo, I came away thinking this game has a lot of potential, and I hope that is realized. If you like games like Double Dragon or River City Ransom, then Scott Pilgrim EX might be right up your alley as well.
