The hits keep on coming as Sony has announced another price hike for PlayStation, and it is a substantial one. This marks the second price increase in about nine months and reflects rising component costs and the global landscape in 2026, driven by certain events and people. For those who have been wanting to get a PlayStation 5 and/or a PlayStation Portal, you need to do so within the next few days, or you will be stuck paying quite a bit more than you do today.

Earlier today on the PlayStation Blog, Sony announced that beginning on April 2nd, gamers can expect to pay more for each of the different PlayStation 5 models, as well as the PlayStation Portal. They announced the new prices for the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and Japan. For gamers in other areas, you will need to check with your local retailers to see what the new price will be.

United States

Keep in mind that with the PlayStation 5 Pro, you have to pay additional costs, as Sony will charge you for a stand, as well as a disc drive, if you want to play the physical copies of games that you own.
