For those gamers who enjoy games like Mirror’s Edge and Titanfall, an indie developer is creating a new game that looks like it might capture the spirit of both. This new game, called Liquid Lungs, is being developed by Carlcadium.
Liquid Lungs is an adrenaline-fueled first-person shooter that merges parkour with high-intensity combat. Aesthetically, it is immediately apparent that Mirror’s Edge is a huge influence, and that is a very good thing. EA’s often underappreciated series, Mirror’s Edge, was a lot of fun and had a distinctive visual flair, similar to what you see in the trailer below for Liquid Lungs.

In Liquid Lungs, players will race across rooftops, slide under objects, leap between walls, and more. The action appears to be fast and furious, where you will have to think fast to traverse the landscape, while also engaging with enemies that are trying to take you out. I can see this game potentially being popular among speed runners once it’s available, as everyone can break down the most efficient routes to maximize success and get the best time.
Another inspiration for Liquid Lungs is the Max Payne games, evident in the bullet-time effects. Players will be able to slip past enemies with pinpoint timing before engaging in an attack that will quickly wipe out the enemy forces.

The environment in Liquid Lungs is dystopian, with towering buildings and neon-lit corridors. Every location in the game invites players to test their parkour skills, and it should be a lot of fun to see the solutions the community comes up with after playing for a bit. There will be new gear to unlock as you make your way through the game, along with hidden secrets to discover that will add replayability to each run.
Liquid Lungs seems like it is trying to fill the void that Mirror’s Edge left with the parkour movement and the gunplay of something like Titanfall. Take a look at the trailer below and then tell us what you think. While no release date has been given for Liquid Lungs, it is currently slated for 2027. Will you play it?
