Grand Theft Auto VI is less than a month away. Rockstar has been going all out on the marketing for is going to be quite possibly one of the biggest games of all time. That also appears to be true of the file size as well with new rumors suggesting gamers are going to need to clear out their hard drive for this one.
It is currently being reported that Grand Theft Auto VI will take up approximately 210 GB of your hard drive space. That is a lot of space, especially for the small hard drives that usually come with consoles. Keep in mind that you can not play it on external drives either. Players can download GTA VI to an external drive to store it there but will need to transfer it to an internal drive before playing. This is no small feat as a lot of games have fairly big file size requirements, although few take up this amount of space.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be available on November 19th. At the present time GTA VI will only be available digitally, with no physical editions having been announced. GTA VI will have two different editions to choose from including:
Grand Theft Auto VI Standard Edition
Grand Theft Auto VI Ultimate Edition
Rockstar has also revealed that pre-load will begin on November 12th for those who have pre-ordered. This is an important step because assuming the 210 GB figure is accurate, it is going to take people a long time to download this game, so making it available for download a week before release is a smart move on Rockstar’s part. This will allow people to play GTA VI the instant it releases on November 19th (or the evening of the 18th depending on your timezone) instead of hammering the servers on the first day with everyone trying to download this massive file.
