Call of Duty returns, and this year, there is a new entry in the Modern Warfare story. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will arrive on October 23, 2026; however, Activision just announced that you can play the campaign early.

The catch is that you have to pre-order to get this access. Simply pre-order the digital version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 or pre-purchase it to get early access to the campaign. This benefit of early access applies to the Standard Digital Edition or Vault Edition on Xbox Series consoles, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, Battle.net, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. Please note that pre-orders are not currently available for Nintendo Switch 2 but they will arrive later this year.

This early access period begins on October 16, 2026, one week before the official retail launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. To be crystal clear, this early does not include access to the multiplayer suite or anything like that. It is just for the campaign, allowing you to jump into the action a week early to see what happens in this next iteration of the Modern Warfare story.
