Ubisoft has released an update on the Assassin’s Creed franchise. There have been some changes made with the team and they are updating their fans with what is going on behind the scenes.

BUILDING THE FUTURE OF ASSASSIN’S CREED

In case you missed it, earlier this year Ubisoft announced a new Assassin’s Creed Leadership Team, made up of longtime franchise veterans from across the brand. Their role is to shape the future of Assassin’s Creed and ensure a cohesive vision for the years ahead.

Led by Martin Schelling, the team has spent the past few months laying the groundwork for what comes next, refining the long-term vision and defining key priorities.

While Ubisoft is not ready to talk about specifics just yet, they wanted to reiterate the principles guiding that work: Staying true to what makes Assassin’s Creed unique, continuing to innovate, delivering diverse experiences, and elevating the quality and consistency of the games.

WORKING MORE CLOSELY WITH OUR COMMUNITY

In March, Ubisoft invited fans to share their thoughts on the future of Assassin’s Creed through a Community Survey, and thousands took the time to tell us what matters most.

According to Ubisoft, three key topics stood out from the responses:

  • Concerns about preserving the unique identity and pillars of Assassin’s Creed
  • A desire for a more coherent narrative that respects and expands Assassin’s Creed’s lore
  • The need for more regular dialogue between Ubisoft and the community

Ubisoft says that feedback echoed conversations already underway within the Leadership Team. As Ubisoft shared above, strengthening consistency across the franchise and its universe is a major focus.

Ubisoft also remains committed to keeping fans informed about franchise news in a variety of ways, starting with updates like this one.

To keep listening, they are planning several closed-door workshops this year with dedicated community members and content creators, to bring feedback closer to the development teams. Stay active on their Discord if you’d like to be considered for future opportunities as Ubisoft always looking for new voices.

While those workshops will help Ubisoft dig deeper into specific topics, they want to hear from players across the entire community. That’s why their next Community Survey is now live.

ASSASSIN’S CREED BLACK FLAG RESYNCED LAST MAJOR UPDATE

The major final update for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has arrived with some features that fans have been requesting. Some of these new features include:

  • New Game+
  • Nightmare Mode
  • New Rewards
  • Finishers
  • Trinkets
  • Additional Customization Options

While I am sure there will be some incremental updates here and there, this is the last major one that Ubisoft currently has planned for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

ASSASSIN’S CREED VALHALLA RECEIVES NEW FEATURE

Ubisoft has recently announced that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has surpassed 40 million players. To celebrate that milestone there is a surprise new update coming to Eivor’s adventure.

Finally, after years of waiting by the fans, a New Game+ feature is arriving next week on November 5. Whether you want to replay this epic saga or try a new build, New Game+ will allow fans to start fresh while carrying over most of your progression, with dedicated New Game+ scaling.

Key Features:

  • An optional progression mode where Gear, Runes, and Masteries all contribute to Eivor’s overall Power
  • New runes, achievements, a stash system, and new rewards, including a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe’s look in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
  • Mithril, a new resource to upgrade Divine Gear and strengthen runes
  • Divine Gear quality for all items

ASSASSIN’S CREED GAMES IN DEVELOPMENT

Codename Invictus

For those who don’t know, Codename Invictus is a multiplayer game that Ubisoft is working on. Earlier this year some players got a chance to join a private Insiders Session, where they were able to get their hands on an early build and share feedback directly with the team.

Ubisoft says that those testers enjoyed the parkour and vertacality of the maps, as well as the ability to play as a variety of Assassin’s Creed characters, each with their own playstyles and skills.

One piece of feedback that came from almost everyone is that the players wanted more of the pillars that define Assassin’s Creed. After that session the team took that feedback to heart and has been working to have more of those pillars, while at the same time remaining true to the multiplayer concept.

There is no release date or official title at this time. Keep checking back and we’ll report on any news that might be released.

Codename Hexe

This will be a darker experience than a lot of the Assassin’s Creed games. Work is still ongoing on this game and the team is doing what they can to deliver the overall vision for the game. The next major update will take place sometime in 2027. Hopefully at that time we’ll get a release date or at least a general release timeframe.

Other Remakes?

Ubisoft claims to not have any other remakes currently in the works after Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. I’m choosing not to believe that because it would be an incredibly big missed opportunity if they don’t have a remake for the original Assassin’s Creed to celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary in 2027.

Assassin’s Creed Netflix Series

Ubisoft has just announced that production for the live action series is nearing completion in Rome, Italy. Award winning composer Hannah Peel (Insomnia, Rogue Agent, Game of Thrones: The Last Watch) has also joined the project and will be composing the series’ score. Unfortunately no release date has been announced for this series but it seems like everything is coming along nicely.
