A few months back, when Square Enix released Final Fantasy VII Remake on Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2, they also unveiled a new Streamlined Progression mode. Essentially, this is a list of options you can turn on to make the game a lot easier to play. A few options in particular can be turned on to make your party invincible, immediately max out your materia, give you as much gil (money) as possible, and more. Obviously, this eliminates any type of challenge from the game, but it can still be fun to experience. I have gone through Final Fantasy VII Remake many times over the years and have now done so again using these new Streamlined options. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will also be arriving on Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2 on June 3, 2026. This will also include the Streamlined Progression mode. The existing PlayStation 5 and PC versions will also be updated to include this mode.
