Indie studio Selkies Interactive has announced that their debut title, the time-bending underwater adventure Echoes of Mora, will launch on April 29th, 2026. The announcement during the Convergence Showcase was accompanied by a new story trailer and a playable demo on Steam for PC and PC-VR just in time for Steam Next Fest.

Echoes of Mora is the atmospheric lovechild of Subnautica and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, an exploration-driven narrative that trades oxygen meters for emotional depth. Players plunge into the depths of a mysterious lake to explore a sunken village, using time portals to bridge the gap between the present and a vibrant past.

As you swim under the surface, you will meet Mora, a young girl searching for her lost brother. By solving puzzles and unlocking “Echoes,” you can travel back in time to collect clues and influence Mora’s journey. Every interaction in the past ripples forward, allowing you to uncover the truth.

Key Features:

  • Dive into Mystery: Explore a captivating underwater world with an emotional story about a sibling duo and a village’s fight against a rising flood.
  • Time-bending Investigation: Solve environmental puzzles and unlock Echoes to travel back in time, collecting hidden clues to unravel the mystery of Mora’s missing brother.
  • Shape the Fate of Mora: Interact directly with Mora in the past to influence her journey and decide the ultimate fate of the village.
  • Total Playstyle Freedom: Play on PC with keyboard/mouse or controller, or experience the full immersion with VR support featuring natural arm-based swimming via motion tracking.
  • Seamless Switching: Switch seamlessly between PC and VR modes at any time during the same play session, giving you complete freedom in how you explore.

Check out the new trailer and tell us what you think about Echoes of Mora. Will you try out the demo? Will you play it the standard way, or will you go for full immersion in virtual reality?
