Death Stranding 2: On the Beach arrived on PlayStation 5 one-year ago. To celebrate the one-year launch anniversary, Kojima Productions recently announced that Hideo Kojima’s epic is on sale now. For the first time, Porters-to-be can now purchase Death Stranding 2: On The Beach for PC at a 20% discount on Steam for a limited time. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is also available on PS5 through the PlayStation Store at a discounted rate. You can also subscribe to PlayStation Plus Premium to play a 5-hour full game trial.

Nominated seven times at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards and winner of the Artistic Achievement award, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is a standalone sequel to Death Stranding, in which you step into the boots of Sam and his companions as they journey across Australia on a new mission to save humanity from extinction and discover the answer to the haunting question:

Should we have connected?

Surrounded by enemies, Sam can shoot, sneak, and sprint his way out of trouble whilst surviving the natural disasters wreaking havoc upon the world. Sam must brave earthquakes, sandstorms and forest fires, as well as the ruinous Timefall, as he strives to save humanity from extinction once again. Throughout Sam’s journey, the Social Strand System connects players from around the globe, allowing you to shape someone else’s world and have their actions shape yours.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach sees Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker return to Hideo Kojima’s genre-defying universe. They are joined by Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and Academy Award-winning film director George Miller.

The PC edition of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is Steam Deck Verified, and thanks to the collaboration with Nixxes Software, contains additional features, such as full integration with Nvidia’s DLSS, AMD’s FSR and Intel’s XeSS and upscaling and frame generation technologies as well as uncapped frame rates in gameplay and customized graphical settings, super-ultrawide (32:9) support for gameplay, with standard ultrawide (21:9) support for in-game cut scenes, full mouse and keyboard support with custom keybind mapping, full DualSense controller integration, with haptic feedback, adaptive trigger functionality, and Spatial Sound Support.

Additionally, players on PC with high-end PC hardware will have the additional option to enable Ray Tracing on reflections and Ambient Occlusion via additional settings. When enabled, ray-traced reflections are applied on surfaces such as water and tar, while ray-traced ambient occlusion applies ambient lighting effects to scenes, resulting in more realistic shadows in crevices, corners, and between objects. These additional PC options are aimed at players with powerful hardware that want to push visual fidelity beyond the “Very High” graphics settings the game already offers. Ray Tracing is not part of the minimum or recommended specifications for the core experience and is not required to enjoy the game as intended.

PC players experiencing any difficulties may find their experience improved by downloading the most recent patch. Full FAQ, patch notes and support guides can be found here.
